Teaching is an exciting profession for me. I believe all kids including the most intellectually disabled can learn. I believe in setting high but realistic goals for students. Learning starts before children enter school and should be integrated between home and school. I am a firm believer in laying strong foundations in the lower grades, and building upon this as the child develops. Teaching children through systematic and explicit instruction has worked best for the students in my classes. As a graduate with a BS degree in Elementary Education, I have gained knowledge in the practice of teaching elementary school. I have been able to observe classrooms as well as student teach. I was able to put my knowledge to use while I student taught by planning all lessons, implementing fun and relevant activities as well as integrating subjects. I am more knowledgeable in reference to teaching elementary students and implementing useful plans to not only teach them the needed information, but to make it fun and in a way that all students would be able to learn.
