Let's start out by saying I am definitely not your average tutor! Fun is vital to motivation, and I live on the stuff! I have been teaching for over fifteen years in a variety of environments, working in inclusive environments with children aged birth to twelve. I am now in my second year as a Special Education Teacher at a private school in DC that specializes in working with children who have Learning and Emotional Disabilities. I hold my M.Ed.HD in Special Education from GWU and a Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education. My comments on tutoring Literature : I have been pretty good in English. My mom has her BA in English and I have defiantly picked up her English genes

I am currently a senior at Sherando High School in Stephens City, VA. I have always been and A and B student. I currently have a 3.5 GPA and received a 1300 on my SATs. I love to help others out in any way possible. I love to meet new people and help them achieve in school so they can a have promising future! I have taken Honors World History I and II, I have taken College Prep English 11 and am currently in College Prep English 12. I am in my high school’s Marching band and Symphonic band; I play the clarinet and bass clarinet, and have been in band for 7 years. I studied Languages for four years at University. I was about to get a degree in English and Portuguese when I moved to the US. I taught for one year. I worked in 3 different schools, in all of them, the subject was English. I have no experience teaching Portuguese outside of college, but I am planning to find students to change that. I have good grammar and comprehension knowlege and also, I'm brazilian, so, in case of pronunciation and the rest, I'm good.

A Little Bit About Me...

I taught in the Wright City RII School District for 26 years, at both high school and middle school level. During that time I taught everything from English and American literature to basic grammar and writing skills. I also taught some reading classes. I have extensive experience in writing research papers and strong skills in grammar and punctuation. I was an assistant principal for two years, and helped develop a reading program for the middle school. As a professional teacher tutoring students was an essential part of ensuring success for many of my students.
I believe all children can learn. A good teacher tries to find each child's individual learning style and accomodate lessons to match it.
