I have two years experience teaching high school physics and chemistry plus one semeester student teaching chemistry and algebra in addition to 17 years experience as an automotive engineer. I hold a masters degree in education (majors in chemistry and math and a minor in physics) and a masters degree in science with a major in chemical engineering. I am certified to teach math, chemistry and physics.
I believe in teaching to understanding. I try to guide the student through the process in question in ways that facilitate understanding rather than simply copying steps to get an answer. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education with emphasis on Biological Sciences and Earth Sciences. I was a teacher in the public school system for 6 years. I taught Science from grade 7 through senior level, encompassing Life Science, Earth Science, Physical Science, Biology, Anatomy and Physiology, and Physics. I went on to Medical School, where I got my Degree in Osteopathic Medicine. During Medical School, I was a tutor at Greenbrier Community College in the areas of Math and Science.
