I can adapt my teaching style to auditory, visual or hands-on type learning. I try to create a relaxed and fun (silly for the little ones) atmosphere where learning will be fun and memorable, because I believe that if you enjoy it - you'll remember it. All students will be given a pre-test prior to instruction so that I can decern if the students problem is one of cognative development or simply gaps in the learning process. I try to help the student relate their learning to real world experiences.

My experience comes from earning a bachelor degree in Computer Studies. I have learned extensive grammatical skills due to writing many research papers. I am currently a graduate student in Systems Information Technology, and am also working on a diploma for medical transcriptionist. While serving in the military I was involved in volunteer work rescuing animals, held a position as Secretary for the American International Women's Club and am now a member of the American Legion Region eight. I am also volunteering this week for the West Fest as a ticket agent.

I believe that not all people learn the same. I certainly learn differently depending on the subject. I also know that reading and writing papers can be a scary task. I specialize in close reading, which means getting students to understand what they are reading and come up with a topic for a paper. I feel that taking a book one small part at a time will help to understand the whole. I believe the best way to learn the skills of reading and writing is to discuss books and topics with others.
