A Little Bit About Me...
My teaching style is basically Socratic, using questions/responses in order to explore and to understand the subject at hand. Active involvement by the student is important, asking "leading" questions to probe why and how certain things are the way they are. Additionally, my teaching style in writing is to start with the broad picture, then move to the details, subsequently returning to the broad picture. The final step is to be able clearly both to introduce and also to summarize the nature of subject matter. My belief is that reading with comprehension and writing is an "art" that can be rehearsed and practiced with ever greater skill.
