In the process of earning my BA in History (minor in Archaeology), I became familiar with a broad range of historical subjects. My certificate in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) gave me a familiarity with mathematics and statistics, as well as conventions of scientific research and reporting. My MA required a publication-ready thesis, which would not have been possible without organization and self-motivation.

A lot of times people are turned away from it due to a high school math experience that they perceive as dry and boring. When I tell people I love math, I too often hear "well, better you than me!" Every one can learn. Sometimes an individual learns in their own unique style and finding that style is the key to teaching them. A Little Bit About Me...

Watching the look on students face as they grasp a concept they are struggling with is what makes teaching and tutoring worthwhile for me. I love the "aha" moment.
