While taking the lead on team-based assignments, I developed a passion for teaching. My method of teaching varies with the subject. A spanish tutor and a chemistry tutor can go about things quite differently. I like leading students to find answers on their own so that they understand the paths they are taking. That method is especially helpful in hard sciences and math. In the liberal arts (poli-sci, literature, religion, philosophy, etc.) I like to work in the Socratic method. I'll challenge the students on topics and concepts with questions that need some thought. I want them to discuss issues with me, and that allows me to help expand their understanding and discover weak points in their knowledge.

A Little Bit About Me...

In my 2nd year of teaching, I have enjoyed the experiences that have came my way due to my students. I enjoy going to work daily and leave almost everyday with a sense of gratification because of the accomplishments I help my students achieve. I currently teach 4th grade and feel this grade level has helped me fine tune my writing skills due to the demanding pressure placed on my students to pass the 4th grade writing test.
