My comments on tutoring Algebra III : I have a good understanding of this material!

I have gone through many math courses, including higher level math courses (complex variables, numerical methods, linear algebra ll) during college. I know how to teach students to learn and understand math material so they can walk into a test and apply that knowledge. I also have experience solving engineering problems and using different methods to solve those problems, such as numerical methods.
I like to explain the mathematical concepts I am teaching. I most like to help those that are having a difficulty understanding the material, rather than those that need the answer to one or two problems. I do not mind repeating myself and like to help the student learn.

My goal is to help you achieve success.

I had the master's degrees in chemistry (Texas A&M University) and chemical engineering (UC Santa Barbara, top-ranked chemical engineering department). I had 4 years of teaching experience as a graduate teaching assistant at Texas A&M University. I tutored students while I was in college. I have been tutoring whenever my schedule permits. You can see my profile and students' reviews on my tutoring at the www.UniversityTutor.com (College station/Bryan) website.
I focus on helping you understand the concepts, rather than memorizing, and explaining the difficult concepts with the use of simple and good examples. I can also help you with your homework and practice tests/exams. I can also guide you on how to, what to study and where to start, etc, after learning what your instructor is focused on in class.

My comments on tutoring Algebra III : I have tutored and taught Algebra III. I am Texas certified in secondary mathematics.

My specialty, however, is to develop curriculum and courses that meet the needs of students. I have created courses in a multitude of areas. Some highlights are: Drexel Prep: When I was a graduate student in electrical engineering at Drexel University, I found out that the minority enrollment was less than one tenth of one percent of Drexel. I joined a group of professors and volunteer students that developed projects for an after school engineering program. I also created a Saturday basketball program. The result of the programs helped result in a dramatic increase in minority enrollment. Rice Robotics: I found an opportunity to enroll students in Rice University’s Robotics Competitions at Rice University. The students competed against Rice students by creating and programming autonomous robots. The students competed very well at the competitions and opened the door to enrollment ... read more
