In addition, I have a New Mexico teacher's license and am "highly qualified" by the State in Math. I first began tutoring, especially math, in high school and have continued to do so over the years. My style of teaching, especially with tutoring, is to find out what kind of learner my student is: tacit, oral, or verbal. Then the lesson style can be geared to that, while leading the student to become more aware of the other abilities and options. Also, it is imperative that students understand why they are learning what is being presented to them. Cause and effect leads to greater awareness and more objective, analytical, and critical thinking.
