A Little Bit About Me...

Coming from a large family and having a large family myself, I have always been around children of all ages and enjoyed working with kids to develop themselves and prepare them for a meaningful place in our society. I am very patient with children and will use different approaches to teach. I try very hard to install a love of learning and work hard to encourage a curiousity of any subject that interests them. I believe in a strong basis of arithmetic skills in younger grades. In the high school, I use real-world applications to develop problem-solving skills through the use of mathematics.

Because I have been working with highly educated adults (those with Doctorates degrees) I take a very respectful, collaborative and individualized approach to teaching. As a parent of two children ages 3 and 8 i have had first hand experience in tutoring and teaching. I have also worked at Head Start for 5 years. During this time I have gained an extensive amount of experience and knowledge of teaching basic math skills, reading, and Grammatical skills. I currently have graduated with three associate degree's and will be working towards my Bachelors in the fall of 2009. I have a great understanding for English and reading and believe that literacy is the most important aspect of life for all people.
