As a graduate from the University of Nevada Reno, I have been exposed to an array of coaching and educational opportunities. I have a degree in Health Sciences and a minor in Psychology and I'm also an EMT-Intermediate, making me very confident in tutoring many science areas. I volunteered as President of the Rugby Club, a Special Olympics coach, a caregiver for severely mental disabled adults, and at a Sports Medicine clinic. A strength on which I have always prided myself is my ability to relate complex concepts with useful analogies and from different angles. I never underestimate a child's ability to learn something, so long as it's in a way in which they understand it. Curriculum development is also important. By that, I mean the creation of illustrations, tables, lists, acronyms, heuristics, and flash cards to aid a student in their thirst to learn. I am patient and fun, and working with children is something that has always animated and invigorated me. Experience gained is not what truly counts it's ones desire to learn through experience that's seperates oneself. Through five years in college and five years in a special education classroom i have learned many things. What i take most from ten years of experience is a mindset to never-give-up. Most day's learning in the classroom are forgetable because the student does not retain information into their long term memory.
