I have helped tutor many young students through the Pirate 21 program at my school (Berea Community) and can help with a wide range of academic and extra curricular needs, such as vocal training or a drama couch, as well as a core content tutor. Since graduating from college, I have pursued further education through supplemental education. While working, I have attended classes in the evenings to keep current with teaching trends, practical classroom skills and the social-emotional needs of children in learning. For 8 years, I was an instructional assistant, but also substituted and served as an after school tutor. For the past 5 years, I have been a pre-school teacher with Migrant Head Start. Spanish was the home language of all the students in the classroom and, as teachers, we used both languages. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Eastern Kentucky University in 2010 with a Bachelors of Science in Criminal Justice. I am currently in my third semester at EKU pursuing my Masters in Public Administration. Through my coursework in my undergraduate and graduate programs I have gained skills in conducting research, writing all forms of papers, public speaking, and statistical analysis.
