A Little Bit About Me...
My teaching style is more of a hands-on technique. I use songs, sensory play, body movement and silly games to assist with learning. I create my lessons directly towards each students strengths and areas of struggle. For example, I once had jelly-beans in the bottom of a bowl of jello. The purpose of this is for the students to retrieve the jelly-beans and sort the beans by color, while having a glove on one hand for sensory play. The students loved this activity!
I am currently a teacher on the Navajo Nation in St. Michaels, Arizona. I teach three classroom at St. Michaels Association for Special Education with students ranging from severe autism to tracheas, g-tubes, daily seizures, etc. I currently teach Primary Medically Fragile and Primary Autistic support, which is kids ages 5 to 9 years old.
