Multi-subject tutoring: maths, Chinese, English

My comments on tutoring Algebra I : I'm not a math person - but then again, neither are you, right? I can teach you how to work through algebra as one non-math person to another.

Tutored my way through high school, college, and have spent the years after graduation part-time tutoring high school students to get into whichever schools they set their sights on. I am now a teacher at a private school in Monona. I help aid a Preschool classroom and have my own classroom in the afternoon for students age four. I also run an after school program once the school day is done with and that incorporates 4 year-olds to seventh graders. I help students out with homework during that time. Before I started my teaching job, I was substituting in Madison and Verona Area School Districts. While in college I had many practicum's in different classrooms and would help students out inside and outside of the classroom. For the past two years, I nannied for a little boy and would help him out with his reading and any other homework he would have for the night.

Algebra I is one of my top subjects! I have tutored algebra in the past and feel comfortable in my abilities to describe concepts to those who are having trouble wrapping their heads around the "algebraic mindset"

I believe that a child cannot fully come to comprehend subject matter without having a chance to be immersed in it first. This philosophy lends to the hands-on, question-oriented form of teaching that I so firmly stand by. I realize that different people employ different strategies in coming to learn new material and I will adjust the way I teach as best I can in order to accommodate each and every individual detail.
