I have many years of experience working with students of all ages and abilities. I have taught in public schools, in private schools, with troubled and behavior problem youth, incarcerated youths (13-20 years of age), as well as home-schooled students, small group, and one-on-one. I have tutored students in all levels of math, science, English, Spanish, social studies, and history. I also have experience with SAT and ACT prep. I truly enjoy what I do. I love enabling students to achieve their goals, become self sufficient, and successful. I teach to the individual, looking for individual strengths and weaknesses; then modify my approach to meet the needs of the individual student. My goal is to enable the student to be and do their best.

I love to teach reading! I have had wonderful mentor teachers who have taught me fun and most importantly, effective, differentiated ways to teach students to read and retain skills. I also like to teach math and writing. I will design lessons that will work for individual students and their specific needs. I am currently finishing my last few weeks in my Student Teaching experience at the elementary level and will receive my teaching license this summer. I have been fortunate to have worked as both a GENERAL and SPECIAL EDUCATION Instructional Assistant. I love working with students of any level and am knowledgeable and comfortable working with students with special needs (Autism Spectrum, ADD/ADHD, Learning Disabilities, Cognitive).

I have been an educator for over 10 years. Even as an undergrad, I was interested in working with children and spent my summers employed with the YMCA's youth programs. My experience is working with at-risk youth from kindergarten to high school seniors. My Master's degree in education combines coursework in special education and talented and gifted. I have tutored and taught students in all subjects both core curriculum and electives. My certification covers Kindergarten through Ninth grade. I enjoy teaching. Working with a student one-to-one or even in small groups allows a student to have their individual needs met. Tutoring has the advantage of catching the student where they are struggling to comprehend. I am patient, creative, and prefer to model examples for my students.
