Teaching and working with children is something that I truly love to do. Everyone has a different learning style. Seeing the look of understanding and comprehension cross a child's face is one of the most rewarding experiences a person can ever have. It is with patience, understanding and constant encouragement that I inspire those around me to excel. Due to the fact that each individual child has a different learning style my teaching style will vary from child to child depending upon their needs. Each child has the one special teacher that they will remember for the rest of their life; I strive to be that teacher. As an undergraduate student at both my junior college and university, I was inspired to spread the joy of learning and understanding English. I enjoy working one on one with children to improve academic performance. I have a number of books collected to supplement learning. I like using at least 5 different kinds of activities per session to keep interest. I enjoy working with phonics and have used it extensively to build performance. I enjoy using books that interest each child to help them have a great desire for reading. Experience with phonics(as a teacher of 1st graders, also experience with children who have learning difficulties, referred to by the school. These children ranged from kindergarten to 8th grades. Special emphasis on reading and writing. I taught in public and private schools and have tutored in my home 10 years. I recently worked with Professional Tutors of America, with junior high students in math.

I've had one formal year of education in programming at College of the Redwoods. The first semester course I took was intro to C++, and the second semester course was C++ with Data Structures. At HSU I studied extensively in the field of education; cumulating in writing and presenting lessons to students at Eureka High. Currently, I have been studying C# and writing small applications in my spare time. In addition, I have been programming a microcontroller in pBASIC via a serial cable. I would seek to emulate the university style of lecture and assigning hands on projects. I believe this is the most effective model since it provides repetition, allowing the student to better memorize the material. Furthermore, projects allow the student to be creative, and design programs in his or her own fashion.
