A Little Bit About Me...

While working with an adult native Spanish speaker to improve her English was certainly rewarding, my desire has always been to work with children or adolescents, as I feel that they are more amenable to an educational program and have a greater learning capacity when given the proper opportunities. My teaching style is one of constant progression, in which the student's strengths and weaknesses are weighed and an appropriate lesson plan formed based on his/her abilities. I experimented with Political Science for two years, in which I took classes in criminology, speech, and history. My next year of college was spent in English and Writing, where I focused on the obvious, as well as classes in psychology. A Little Bit About Me...

I have taught 4 and 5th grade in the Texas School Systems for 24 years. I worked as a retired teacher in the Adams Wells Special Services Coop for 3 years (2006-2009)as a teacher's aide with special needs students both in the elementary and high school levels. Those children varied from autistic, cerebal palsy, Attention Deficit Disorders with and without Hyperactivity. I really enjoyed working with these students to help them with their reading, math, and overall achievement. I am currently employed as a substitute teacher with the North Adams Community Schools on K-12 Levels. I also worked with the district in a specially funded program for a homework and tutoring afterschool program on 4th and Kindergarten levels.
