I graduated from my Master's program with a 4.09 GPA and was inducted into the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi. I have taught in the public school system for over 7 years at all grade levels from Kindergarten to Grade 12. I have taught all subject areas as well as Special Education, Resource, and AIS Reading and Math. I also spent over 11 years in the construction industry working on highways, bridges and airports as a Project Manager and Surveyor. Both of my parents were teachers and I find myself sharing my knowledge with anyone who seems to need it. I have instructed the ladies in my craft group, answered questions posted online, and tried to instill some basic computer upkeep knowledge in the people who've asked me for help with their personal computers. I loved explaining the world to my children and I miss the joy and wonder of a child who has just understood something for the first time.

A Little Bit About Me...

Beginning in high school I found myself driven to help children in need. Through my participation in Mercy Action, I raised money for mentally delayed children, and set up numerous barbeques for them. Later, I began tutoring a young brazilian boy in the 5th grade. He needed help with all of his studies, especially math and english. As a political science major, I have gained experienced in essay writing, grammatical skills and research methods.
Before I was able to tutor, I taught 7 year old girls cheerleading. When I began to tutor, I enjoyed being one on one with the child. I am very patient, punctual and considerate. I know children that need extra help need extra time. I find it personally rewarding to supplament a child's education. I also believe it is easier for a child to ask questions when they are one on one with an educator.
