She left her homeland in 2007 to pursue a Bachelor of Arts degree at Furman University, Greenville, South Carolina, where she double majored in Music and French. It is at Furman University that she had her first taste of teaching: she was Teaching Assistant for one semester and she tutored French in her spare time.
