I have a passion for learning, teaching and helping others. I have earned a BS in mathematics as well as a MAE. I have over ten years of experience tutoring third grade through twelfth grade students and I am in my third year of teaching in public high schools. I believe with all of my heart that every child can learn and be successful with the right tools. I teach by guiding my students towards their goals as I believe that discovery learning is the most effective. As an Americorp participant during my early college years I learned of the many joys that teaching can give. I have a BS in general studies and very close to a BS in psychology, criminal justice, and English. I have taught at a college for 3 years, substituted for various school districts for 2, and I am currently finishing a full-time jr. High teaching position at Immanuel Christian School. I love one on one or small class sizes. Each child is so different in their own way and each have such a different learning style that I like to take it slow and be personal with each student. In my years of experience I have learned how to make learning fun. I love to include humor and everyday examples when I teach. Children are amazing and after all our future.

My teaching style is very goal-oriented, yet flexible enough to accomodate a variety of methods. Some students learn best from lectures, other learn from visuals while some are much better at hands-on instruction and correlations/representations. Each student has boundless potential; it is up to a knowledgeable educator to help that student unlock their potential and soar.
