I believe that all students are capable of learning math. My goal is help each student understand math, and not just memorize steps. I accomplish this by using many methods to present material, including pictures, graphs, manipulatives, experiments, and physical movement. I have experience working with students of all levels of ability, and have enjoyed helping all of them.

I believe that students of all ages respond to humor, honesty, and respect. Subjects in which that students have difficulty can be made accessible to them by demonstrating to them the humor in learning something hard and the fun of conquering the subject. Learing should be something students enjoy.
I taught 7th grade Language Arts for six years when I lived in Florida. I collaborated on the team that created the Orange County curriculum for teaching writing to the middle grades. This curriculum is still in use today. I worked for the Princeton Review as a tutor doing SAT preparation both privately and in a classroom setting. This was in preparation for both the verbal and math skills sections.
