Spanish is one of my top subjects! All levels from Spanish 1 - A.P. Spanish Language and A.P. Spanish Literature

I like to give students the tools that will allow them to succeed in their language study.
I have over 8 years experience teaching Spanish to all levels. I also have experience as a Reader for the A.P. Spanish Literature Exam and as a grader for the Spanish Praxis Exam for teacher certification. As a teacher I have taught all different types of classes from Level 1 to Spanish for Heritage Speakers to A.P. Spanish Literature. I can also help prepare for A.P. Spanish tests and SAT II subject tests.

I believe in taking a casual approach in tutoring. From previous experience, I have found that many times students understand the material but tend to get flustered in a classroom environment. I provide guidance when needed, but sometimes students just need someone there to talk it out with them. If this is the case I like to ask questions until they find the answers themselves. This method not only teaches them the material, but also builds confidence because they realize they can figure out much of it themselves.
I worked for Kankakee Community College for one year as a Math and Spanish tutor in 2006 and 2007. My B.A. is in History and Social Behavioral Science. This encompasses Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Economics and Political Science. After graduating second in my class with a 3.9 GPA, I started working for the Art Institute of Chicago. During the last five years, I have worked with children of all ages and at all developmental levels. I also have been responsible for grading coursework in all subjects in the classroom. In addition I have developed lesson plans for small groups. I tutored college level students in Spanish as part of my work study. With regard to my Language Arts credentiials, I was Student Life Editor in school and my History Major greatly enhanced these skills.
