I try to work with students to find connections between different aspects of the material that we're working on as well as to find connections to other subjects. I find that by relating specific topics to broader perspectives on a subject as well as related subjects, the student can gain a greater appreciation for the coherence and importance of a particular subject area. I have experience working with students who are advanced and seeking supplementary tutoring as well as with students who are having difficulty with a subject. I have tutored mathematics as well as chemistry, biology, physics, and other subjects. I have tutored students from a range of ages and I worked with my first student over four years ago while I was in college.

At the age of 17, I am considered a Sophomore in college and will most likely be a commissioned Air Force Officer before I am 20 years old. I have been a teacher for 7 years. I have taught in a small-town private, Christian two-room schoolhouse (K-8); I currently substitute teach for OPS, and have been to all but one school in the district. I have also tutored on and off over the years, both individually and in small groups, both privately and through school district or companies. I enjoy working with students in a smaller setting, especially one or two at a time, and helping them understand concepts and thus succeed in their schoolwork. The process is just as important as the product. If a student can come up with the correct answer, but he or she has no idea how or why it is correct or how they got it, I feel like their learning is incomplete.
