The background to most common disorders in adults is complex involving multiple genes, thus I used advanced fuzzy latent class analysis to identify high and low risk sets of gene variants and to define the level of risk for individuals. I have taught Science (Bio. & Chem.), and Early Childhood Ed. now at three different Colleges, for a total of 5 years combined, as well as having been an Early Childhood Educator for a total of 5 years. I also spent two years teaching wilderness education whilst employed by the United States Forest Service as a Wilderness Ranger. I am a dynamic teaher who believes in a hands on, interactive approach to teaching. Lots of give and take, as well as open ended questioning. I do this through modeling what I expect them to learn, provide time for guided practice, reteach and model more if necessary, then provide opportunities for independent practice, while giving specifc feed back. There is no 'One size fits all" in education and as a teacher, I will feel like I have been a true educator if I constantly strive to learn more deeply about how students learn and take that knowledge and apply it, but first you have to truly know your students.
