I know shotcuts in math that really help students to safe time and understand the material. I created my own theory of explaning things that is not writtern in any math book. It is easy to understand for students. The most important thing is to explain math through pictures not formulas. The formulas will be understand automatically after the student understands the picture and concept. I am very patient and ready to explain as long as it takes. My comments on tutoring College Algebra : I've tutored a student in College Algebra. It's not much more difficult than Algebra II.

9/2003-3/2008 TA @ SOL Christian Academy im Torrance. 10/2008-9/2009 Tutor @ South Bay Academy in Torrance. 10/2009-6/2010 Contracted Tutor @ Classroom Clinic in Hermosa Beach. 8/2010-Present Supplemental Instruction Coach (Tutor) at El Camino College. Since 9/2005 I have also worked as a private tutor.
I am a big believer in explaining concepts repeatedly until a student understands so I have a lot of patience. You need to with math. I remember how it was learning all those concepts for the first time. I try to use steps as much as possible so my students always feel like they have a way to get to their destination from any point in a problem. Beyond that there's not to much to say. I'm a firm believer that a person does not truly understand a concept until they have practiced doing problems over and over.
