My teaching of children began in 2004, when I taught a Sunday school class to 5-year-olds at my church. Then in 2005, I assisted with teaching the local children at a small mission church. During the 2006 through 2008 school years I subbed in mostly elementary schools, but I also subbed in some middle and high schools. Since 2007, I have been tutoring Jefferson County Public School students in the No Child Left Behind program. I have a very diverse background range from English to science. My jobs require me to understand complex topics so that I can convert them into concepts that are understandable by lay audiences. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Humanities. I am finishing my Master of Science in Entomology at the University of Nebraska. My unconventional background is what fuels my desire to learn about science. I have a solid understanding of grammar as evident by the more than 300 trade letters, papers, and articles I have authored in my career.
