My comments on tutoring Elementary Study Skills : I have spent the past 25 years in the Oklahoma Public School System and have spent much of this time helping kids know how to prepare for tests and feel confident about their knowledge. I have a lot of resources for kindergarten through Sixth grade on how to make sure students do well on the Dynamic Indicators of Basic Learning Skills, Literacy First Test, and for grades third and fourth how to be prepared for the Oklahoma Core Curriculum Tests.
I spend a lot of time teaching small group interventions which focuses on the Reading Sufficiency criteria that is mandated by the Oklahoma State Department of Education. I have also worked with many Gifted and Talented students preparing them for Writing Contests. My passion is encouraging students to look forward to the Core Curriculum Test. In the past I have been given the opportunity to teach Art and Writing and mnay of my students have produced Writing Portfolios of which they are extremely proud!
