REAL LEARNING IS FUN, RISKY, DANGEROUS...BUT NEVER BORING :)

My experience spans both the ivory tower and the world of business and industry. I have observed that "TEACHING" is often associated with the ideas of "PRESENTATION" and "ACADEMIC ENTERTAINMENT". Honestly, for many students it is comforting, soothing, and safe to sit in a chair and listen to an "ADULT" sing to them in the language of Calculus, Organic Chemistry, Java, etc. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THAT APPROACH. Nevertheless, I too have sung to many students in the language of General Chemistry at the Junior College Level. For over 5 years, I have tutored and taught students at the university and high school level. My adventures in business and industry have included 5+ years Software/Chemical Process Development. from experience, i can say different people learn differently and the best way to teach is to identify the way in which an individual is put to think. for example boys learn easily when quantities are expressed in numbers whereas girl grasp faster when quantities are related to their eventual effect.I believe all children can meet their potential if they are given the appropriate surroundings and learning experiences. my way of teaching as always been reducing complex concepts to imaginable day-to-day phenomena.
After my BS in Chemical Engineering, during which I gained an understanding in many areas of math and science.
