You see my degree, McPherson is a very traditional liberal arts college so I have what would qualify as a minor in Social Studies at almost any other university. I am the mom and aunt of dyslexic children, I know the struggles....I've been through the tears and hours of homework. There is no "quick fix" but we can experiment and find what works for you. We need to discover your individual gifts and most effective learning styles first then use those skills to gain confidence and begin improve on the skills that are not so strong. If you have given up we need to find your motivation. My son at thirteen was ready to quit life, in one year we turned it around and he became an A/B student and loved school and life.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have assembled a wide variety of experiences during my years of work and education. I have worked as a journalist, advertising copy writer and designer; and teacher of adult learners in the areas of fine art, art history, and garden design. For 16 years, I owned a operated a successful garden design business and, more recently, taught in a local elementary school for six years as a fifth grade teacher, specializing in reading and, especially, writing.
