Graduate student looking to help students achieve their goals!

I think teaching styles should differ based on the preferred learning style of the student. The teaching style should play on the strengths and preferences of that particular student. That being said, I foster a student-centered approach to learning. This approach encourages the student play an equal, active role in the learning process, rather than a passive role. A cooperative approach is important so the student can feel like he or she is an active and capable participant in learning the material. I also believe in leading by example and allowing the student to use me as a resource for reviewing their work.

A Little Bit About Me...

During the last four years, I have spent a large amount of time working with, and around middle school and High school students. I have spent time in the classroom, worked with small groups, and spent one summer working with multiple summer camps up and down the coast. I love working with students, especially individually or in smaller groups. I also have expierence as a help desk specialist, which allows me to work with and around computers. A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy tutoring, especially with motivated people. I have much experience in translating difficult academic problems to meaningful skills. I still don't have my times tables memorized but can demonstrate difficult fractions and imaginary numbers to others. My experience in laboratory, design and classroom settings allows me to illustrate complex concepts meaningfully. I enjoy working one-on-one to help facilitate deeper understanding.
