A Little Bit About Me...

Even before attaining my degree in English from Jacksonville State University I was passionate about all forms of teaching. I have over a year of experience tutoring college students at Jacksonville State University's Academic Center for Excellence and immediately following that nearly another year of experience tutoring dyslexic youths at the Dyslexia Clinic in Oxford, AL. I have experience tutoring biology, english, french, physcohology, and a variety of art and history classes.
Many children struggle with classroom learning because they require a different learning method than the one being offered or more direct attention than a teacher of 20+ students can offer. A Little Bit About Me...

I have an associates degree and a bachelor's degree. My bachelor's degree is in Psychology with a minor in Social Science. I have worked for the Alabama public school system as a teacher's aide in special edcuation for the last seven years. I am currently working towards obtaining my master's degree in education. I have learned different ways in which to help students who struggle in reading fluently, reading decoding, and reading comprehension.
I enjoy teaching and working with students from all types of academic and cultural backgrounds. My desire is to help each child succeed to the best of his or her ability. Addressing multiple intelligences and multiple learning styles are essential for struggling students. Finding a student's best mode of learning increases self-esteem and time on task.
I have 20 plus years of teaching experience. I have worked with students from pre-school age to adults. I have taught students with a variety of disabilities and functioning levels from severely impaired to gifted.
