A Little Bit About Me...

I hold a bachelor degree in Elementary Education from Towson University where I interned for two years in both urban and suburban settings. During my college years, I was a biology and history tutor. After graduation, I taught mathematics to children at risk of failing. Currently, I teach reduction reading and mathematics in an inclusive setting.
I believe it is important to find every child's unique learning style and use that tho help them reach their potential. I am patient and willing to approach a subject from multiple angles to ensure success. My college was a constructivist school and I have included this style into my teaching. Discovery learning helps a child understand why skills are important. My goal is to help my students reach their full potential.

In my 16 years as an educator, I taught middle school and high school mathematics and I worked for 5 years providing staff development for elementary math teachers (Pre-K to grade 5) helping them to improve instruction and become effective teachers of mathematics. In addition to being a teacher, I also worked as tutor, providing mathematics instruction for students of all ages. Finally, I was also a tutor at the college level when I worked as a mathematics adjunct.

In my current position I am creative, organized, and nurturing. I am a team player and regularly coordinate lessons with faculty in other departments at my grade level. I make class fun and meaningful for my students. I also created a workbook for my students in an effort to revive Latin in the classroom.
