Patience. I would have to say, I would have to learn the needs of the student, what they already know and don't know, and use what they know to help them understand what they don't know. I would be fairly straightforward I guess. Helping someone understand a certain math concept would make me feel like a better person too, because when I finally grasped something like that, I remember how good a feeling it was to do so. When, I start to tutor someone I always have them erase from their minds "I can't do this" or "its to hard" and have them input into their minds "I can do this". I would have to say that my teaching style is flexibility. I believe that it is necessary to gauge your students as a group and individually before deciding on which teaching methods would be most effective. I believe that naturalistic teaching is important. I also believe in a form of discrete trial training. It takes some of the basics from Discrete Trial and adapts them to fit the needs of the students that are struggling with certain subjects. Research has proven that all students learn differently and lessons cannot be taught primarily through auditory learning. A teacher especially one in the younger grades must engage in auditory, visual, tactile, kinestics and other learning methods.

Coming from a poor background I was very much determined to change my family economic situation.
