High school was a blast, and I loved every moment!! I was the history buff, drama geek, grammar police and still am to this day. English and elementary skills are my best field. I had a college level english when I was in 8th grade. Math is an okay subject for elementary but I'm not the best at algrebra or higher. My spelling skills and writing skills are excellent. Like I have said before my total english level was a college level when I was in 8th grade. First and foremost, I understand that no two children learn the same. I believe many children struggle in a learning environment simply because they are not comfortable with it. I excel at personal communication, and make it my first goal to find out how the student is going to learn the best. Whether it requires dancing, music, pictures, whatever it takes, once a student is comfortable they are far more likely to absorb information. This holds true for any age. I received my BS degree in 2007 in pre-medicine. I majored in pre-professional zoology and I have a minor in biochemistry. I also worked at the Talent Development Center as a tutor for biology, botany, chemistry and biochemistry. During the last twelve years I have worked within the public school system in both Arkansas and Florida. Between 1998 and 2000 I worked as a substitute for the Cabot School District. Between the years of 2000 and 2005 I worked with the Special Education teacher at Landmark Elementary in Little Rock, AR to ensure student achievement. In 2005 I moved to Ocala, FL and worked for the Hammett L. Bowen Elementary until June 2010. While in the district I was able to complete my ESOL certification as well as work with special education students in a full inclusion setting.
