A Little Bit About Me...

I have been teaching for 25 years. Most of my teaching was in religious settings working with teens, but I have also tutored younger children with school studies in after school programs and I have taught Microsoft Office, Keyboarding and Business classes in an accredited adult learning center. I have trained teens to do on air radio announcing, creating magazine publications, web design and have taught guitar and bass. I am both an adoptive parent and have served as foster parent, both requiring tutoring my children in general school studies. I am a licensed Short Term Substitute Teacher for the state of Ohio.

A Little Bit About Me...

I can teach many different styles to suit different learning styles. I truly believe in the mastery technique. My 9 year old has ADD and severe dyslexia so i have to employ many different styles to meet her needs. Being a great teacher is all about knowing and understanding your student and how they learn.
I am currently pursuing my BS degree in business management and finance. I have completed all of my math requirements and passed calculus with an "A" average. I home school my 9 year old daughter and really enjoy watching her learn and grow.

I love to watch people learn, to show them new things and watch them catch on to the processes and apply themselves. I am a believer of showing students several times and then letting them try it for themselves. If they still are struggling we keep working on it until we find a way that they can understand, that could be using the computer, paper, marbles, whatever approach they can relate to.
