As a Title I Para Educator I am responsible for working with students who need extra support in core academic areas. I teach K-4 students in a small group or classroom setting and on an individual basis. I currently have a case load of about 25 students that I see twice a day. I am responsible for planning my own lessons and corresponding with the classroom teachers to best meet the needs of the students. Al though I have never technically tutored or taught a child writing, I am interested in helping aid a child's learning experience. A Little Bit About Me...

I have worked with children since I was 12 when I would babysit for relatives and neighbors. I graduated from Western Michigan University with a Bachelors of Science in Education specializing in Emotional Impairments and Learning Disabilities. I completed two years of practicum teaching covering all age ranges and learning styles while taking Special Education courses through Western. This past year I did two internships in the Kalamazoo Public School District. I have coached for the Special Olympics basketball program and participated in Big Brothers Big Sisters. While in High School I taught catechism for my church grades 2-4.
