I believe that every child is capable of learning, and once they see how a subject is relevant to their life and goals, they usually want to learn all they can about it. I try to make academic subjects relevant by introducing real-life applications. Once a student is interested in learning, we can move on to study strategies tailored to each child's individual learning style, and develop a plan whereby the student can progress on his or her own time. My experience in tutoring is a mix of working with large tutoring agencies as well as local one-on-one at home tutoring services.
