I have had a passion for reading all of my life. I pursued a bachelor's degree in English from the University of Wisconsin, which I received in 1973. I have taught children of all ages and disabilities in all academic areas. I prefer working with younger students. I have been published in a national education journal, "The Clearinghouse." I had an assistantship to an ecucation professor at the University of Iowa, where I received my master's degree in special education. I have woeked in small-group and one-to-one settings. I first like to understand the student's learning style, as we all have different methods of learning. Some are visual, others do better with reading a text, or using examples. I use a variety of methods to teach my students, depending on age. I also want to learn where and why the student is struggling with the subject. A Little Bit About Me...

I have worked with students of many different backgrounds, ages, and abilities. I love to help a student find that "a-ha" moment where he or she finally understands a concept that has been a struggle. I enjoy teaching new concepts or working with students to master a concept.
I currently teach in an interim classroom for secondary students who have been suspended or expelled. I teach all subjects, but am most comfortable with LA and math. Before this, I taught in a high school classroom for students with behavioral disabilities. I taught LA and social skills. I also have been a para-educator in a junior high school, a substitute teacher, and taught dance lessons.
