Specializing in English, Spanish, and Elementary help!!

I like to be presented with the material at hand and evaluate what the child/student knows before I dive in. After this initial assessment, I take more of an interactive approach. I constantly offer feedback and guide the student in reaching the correct answers without just giving them away. If the problem calls for drawings or manipulatives, I utilize these resources to the fullest.
My area of expertise is the English language and grammar. I took two year's worth of Advanced Placement English classes during high school and made either 4's or 5's on both exams. I am also National Board Certified in area of Middle Childhood Generalist. I am certified 6-9 and 9-12 English. I am patient but firm. In order to be a success in the business world, one must be able to write and speak the English language correctly. If the student knows English, everything else in general business can be taught. Thus, in a tutoring environment, I try to make learning fun and make a game out of speaking and writing proper English. I believe that every child can learn even those that are handicapped. My mother was a specialist in teaching trainable children and got them jobs after graduation. Being around children with IQ's around 60 gave me special insight and understanding.
