I can help in pretty much any general subject like math, philosophy, drawing, painting, geography, and some English as well. I believe teaching is best learned though practical examples (especially math). because I used to say the same thing that I'm sure that kids today are saying. When am i ever going to use this in my daily life? Its important to let them see the applications from knowing calculus based formulas to predict market declines (algorithms), to basic math in in inventory work, to understanding complex words and their proper sentence usage so they can understand what rudimentary or neophyte means in a job interview. Also, its important to inspire. most of the children/ teens in a tutoring course have been discouraged due to the fact that they are not picking up on a subject as quickly as their peers. That why its understandable that if they have someone to look up to, as i did, in a particular course they tend to do better and go beyond what they though originally possible.

I enjoyed the fast pace of the manufacturing environment, but have since moved from the Detroit area to the Springfield, MO, area. Aspects of teaching that appeal to me the most are the fast-paced learning setting which offers the benefits of teacher and student time, the continuity of care, and the pleasure of seeing students learn over time. I enjoy the versatility in balancing direct teaching and mentoring, interacting with students, and student progress management. While I was teaching at St. Patrick, in the summer 2008, and tutoring students at Williams College, I found that expressing my love and enthusiasm for math created a learning environment that fosters intellectual curiosity in the students.
