I have been teaching for 21 years now (wow, that's gone by fast!) and I love every second of what I do. I have also been a tutor in the district for the past 9 years, tutoring every subject possible--math, English, Social Studies, etc. I enjoy tutoring because it allows me to get to know students who don't take French and also I love to teach other subjects outside my own area. Teaching is the best job there is--I get such a great energy from my students every day! I rarely miss a day of school, and I look forward to going in to work every morning. I believe that students learn best when they are able to use a variety of I believe it is necessary to access prior learning in order to know where to begin the learning process. Then I believe it is necessary for students to participate in both guided practice as well as independent practice in order to assess whether or not they have a working knowledge of the material that is being taught. I also believe in using both formative assessment and summative assessment.
