My teaching style is "hands-on" instruction. I enjoy teaching in a classroom environment. Face to face instruction supplemented with course materials is my preference. It's important to link the book and the homework with proper instruction. Working through examples and using illustrations also enhances learning and comprehension.
I am currently both a adjunct Accounting instructor and a Accounting tutoring instructor with DeVry University. I received my Bachelor of Science in Business - Accounting degree in 2007 and am now a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA). I have had great accounting experience in many different areas of accounting that will be useful in tutoring/mentoring students. I have found that no matter how much anyone person would like to teach, no one can force someone to learn. With that in mind, if I remember to approach each student as an individual with his or her own abilities, concerns, and goals, I will have a more successful result as an educator. I have learned that each individual has at least one trigger, for want of a better word, which will entice them unconsciously to want to learn. One of my goals is to find that element.
