I believe teaching is about learning instead of the outcome. I practice "learning by doing" where they create their own style and way of accomplishing the task based on age appropriate methods and ways that work for them. It is not about the final product, but rather how they get to the proposed finish. Kids will go as far as you push them and typically exceed ones expectations.
I began as an education major at the University of Central Oklahoma before switching to Oklahoma Baptist University. I have worked with children in a professional setting since 2004 in church, non profit, daycare, early childhood, and preschool settings. I value education and find it to be a crucial and vital part of child development. I have tutored autistic students, as well as taught preschool for 14 months both at Saint Dunstans Preschool and Holland Hall College Preparatory School.

As a diagnostician I strive to thoroughly understand the academic strengths and weaknesses of each student. I also use my observational skills and testing experience to check for auditory, visual and other problems not easily detected in school settings. With adequate individual attention using proven teaching techniques, I can help any student to achieve his/her maximum level of expertise in any subject.
I have taught reading and music full time in public schools as well as administered IQ and Achievement Tests for the Ok State Dept. of Education. I have tutored students in reading, test-taking techniques, and elementary math. With a BS in Elementary Education, MS Reading Specialist and Psychometry/Educational Diagnostician certification as well as strong minors in Art and Music, I have the background necessary to diagnose problems and teach necessary skills.
