I have educated both college and middle school students, and through these experiences I learned that the key to effectively teaching others is patience. I guide my students but do not do the work for them. Most students have the ability to learn the material being instructed to them. By being patient, I give the students the opportunity to problem solve on their own, which ultimately builds confidence. With more confidence, students seem to learn better. I believe this is the key to mastering any academic subject.
I recently graduated college with a BA in Human Biology, and I am currently in the transition between undergraduate school and medical school. My calling in life is always been in an educational setting. My experience has allowed me to use multiple teaching styles to match learners learning styles. I believe all students can achieve their goals with the right person in place. I am very patient and have high level communication skills. I truly care for my students and love what I do.
I have 20 years experience as an educator and 2 years as a private tutor. I currently teach English in an adult education setting and have successfully tutored students in Reading, Writing, Grammar, Math, Study Skills, SAT/ACT prep and GED preparation.
