I have educated both college and middle school students, and through these experiences I learned that the key to effectively teaching others is patience. I guide my students but do not do the work for them. Most students have the ability to learn the material being instructed to them. By being patient, I give the students the opportunity to problem solve on their own, which ultimately builds confidence. With more confidence, students seem to learn better. I believe this is the key to mastering any academic subject.

After graduation I decided never to stop studying Law, the Brazilian legal system, different legal systems around the world and international law, both public and private. I became a specialist in tax law, a master in jurisprudence and a PhD in international law. Becoming a professor was only natural and my teasing career began in 1992 or 1993. As a child I learned to speak English and French as well as Portuguese. After that I learned other foreign languages. I am now living in the US and would like to teach again.

There are many ways for children to learn, and the most effective method that I have used is to establish a basic foundation and then build upon that. My five year old son, Paul, is already reading and writing becuase I have worked patiently with him for the last few years. Simple rewards like a 'high five' may seem silly, but any type of positive reinforcement helps to keep attention focused on the work at hand, and makes children enjoy what they are doing. In addition to my college work, I also taught 9th-11th graders at a charter school for three semesters. This environment was rewarding, as I found the high school students appreciative of my efforts and eager to learn.
