A Little Bit About Me...

I have been a volunteer for various literacy programs for the past several years, focusing primarily on phonics rather than sight reading. I have worked in two group homes for dually diagnosed adults, meaning both physically and mentally challenged. I went to school online at Ashford University, for 2 years in an accelerated Bachelor's Degree program with a focus on education. With an inborn gift of language art skills and being a tutor for about the past 20 years, I have learned how to relate easily to any age group or functioning level.
I am a creative teacher, meaning that I assess the individual and do not have an agenda that I adhere to. I have spent most of my adult life helping children learn. I have worked in childcare facilities, as well as in public and private schools and as a private tutor. I have taught or worked with preschoolers through 5th graders. I've worked with special needs children, as well (ADD/ADHD, LD, ED, and ODD, for example).
