I believe that happy people not only learn faster, but they also retain more. Far too much of our kids' lives are spent cooped up indoors. Therefore, I like to take an open-door approach to learning and like to schedule as many sessions as possible out of the house/library/etc. Each session is guaranteed to be filled with fun learning experiences that the pupil will be sure to remember. A session with a child that needs reading/spelling/comprehension, for instance, could very well be done at the zoo. I want my kids to learn, and have fun doing it! My comments on tutoring Writing Skills : I taught self-esteem classes at Youth Visions, Inc. that taught basic writing skills for self-expression. Writing skills were also taught during homework help at Youth Visions, Inc. and during tutoring sessions with the Memphis Literacy Corps.

Reading and writing are, and have always been, enjoyable for me. However, I know that a lot of people do not feel the same way.
