As a recent college graduate I have extensive knowledge in the physical and biological sciences, including chemistry, geology, soil science, physics, botany. I have strong writing and reading skills, as well as personal interest in history and social science. This past summer I was an intern with the City of San Luis Obispo Parks and Recreation Department in which I was responsible for planning and running environmental education summer camps for kids ages six to twelve. More teaching experience includes working in an after school homework club for elementary students of all grades, as well as a classroom aid in a second grade class and a kindergarden class. I enjoy working with children and get a kick from seeing a discovery or understanding in a students eyes. I've had the opportunity to collect numerous bio. samples for hands on experience. I have also taken workshops in the workings of google earth as a teaching tool along with mapping and watershed principles.I feel I have benn successful in elightening many student's lives.
