My comments on tutoring SAT - Math : Scored a 700 math on my SAT.

Throughout my student career I have been an excellent test taker, especially on standardized tests. I scored a 1480/1600 on my SAT and a 164 on my LSAT. I have been taught in both group settings and individualized settings. Additionally I have also tutored in both group and individual settings. My teaching style strives to be personalized with a lot of emphasis put on developing test taking strategies with trial and error.

A Little Bit About Me...

I believe in talking through problems using visual ideas and simplified concepts. I prefer teaching with graphics and concepts, and then relating them to formulas and equations. While I expect hard work from my students, I also have the patience to help them understand at their own pace.
I am a currently a working civil engineer specializing in bridge design (steel and concrete structures). As a re-founding member and President of the Syracuse University chapter of the National Society of Pershing Rifles (www.pershingriflessociety.org) I was responsible for the planning and instruction of between 12 and 20 students in the areas of Leadership, Project Management, Exhibition Drill and Wilderness Survival. My one to one teaching style is tailored to adapt to the students learning style. However, my experience shows that keeping the student active during the learning process promotes a better learning. I use Microsoft Excel during my lessons. I create formulas, graphs, etc. and the Excel spreadsheet and ask the student to enter the data so that he/she can see how things change with different entries.
