I have been tutoring my entire college career. All of my students received the grade that they were wanting and quite a few students even recommended me to their peers. I began tutoring one student a semester privately and was eventually recruited to tutor for a University program. While tutoring for the program I tutored 7 students one on one and ran a help room where I assisted many more. I have a BS in Aerospace Engineering so I am quite familiar with most math and science subjects. I also graduated from high school with an International Baccalaureate diploma so I am more than capable of tutoring any high school level material. Since I've been tutoring I've helped around 50 students individually and have developed different teaching styles to suit different students. I believe that if a student wants to learn a subject and is willing to put forth the effort, that student has the tools to succeed. Quite often they just need help in "how" to learn. There are a lot of subjects that are intimidating to students. I like to demystify and simplify the subject so that the student has a greater chance for success. I currently am a substitute teacher for all grades from 1st grade to high school. I started this avocation after spending 27 years in the Finance and Accounting areas. I have an MBA from the University of Kansas. One of the gifts God has given me is the ability to help others reach their potential. When teaching, I am quite often able to explain difficult subjects to students in a way that is easier for them to understand.

The combination of educational studies and day to day real life work experiences give me a unique perspective in my teaching and tutoring. I have written many lengthy reports, essays, research papers and industry training materials. This has trained me to be methodical in writing and consise with facts and figures. What I enjoy the most about teaching is to connect with the student. This gives me the opportunity to not only help in the learning process but also to help them find joy in learning.
